Regional Specialty –
Celebrating our 25th Anniversary

2011 will mark a quarter century for the PWDCTC – quite a milestone for our breed in the Twin Cities. The Regional Specialty serves up a great venue to celebrate our club, our dogs and their performance.

Mark your calendar now and plan to join us at this year's Regional Specialty on Thursday, August 25th and Friday, August 26th at the Washington County Fairgrounds. The performance events, including obedience and rally will be held on Thursday, August 25th in the afternoon. This is an opportunity to see our beloved PWD's and handlers who have worked hard training perform in the various events. And you won't want to miss the trials and tribulations of team obedience and brace! Guaranteed to be a fun spectator event with lots of good humor!

Conformation events will take place in the morning and early afternoon on Friday, August 26th where we showcase our favorite breed. Events will include an AKC specialty breed conformation show and sweepstakes competition for both puppies and veterans (dogs over 7 years of age). This is a great time to come and watch a large gathering of fabulous PWD's from around the country. After judging on Friday, we will have a presentation in honor of our founding and contributing members followed by an on-site lunch and then our famous PWDCTC raffle.

In honor of our 25th anniversary there will be a selection of items from our PWDCTC history included in the raffle you won't want to miss. And, club members will have a unique opportunity to see club archives and contribute to telling our story for years to come. The raffle helps us support all of the activities we offer each year. Please help us make it a success by donating an item, or a dollar amount and we will do the shopping for you! Contact Luke Yarbrough to arrange a donation.

As always, all our events are a success because of the volunteers who make it happen. We are in need of volunteers for both Thursday and Friday. If you have been wondering what goes on during either event, being a volunteer is a great way to learn the "lay of the land". Please contact Cathy Shonka if you are able to donate your time to our very special 25th Anniversary Regional Specialty! Check out the calendar for details of this year's specialty.
