About the event

It’s time for our Annual Picnic! Please note this year our Picnic will be held at Animal Inn in Lake Elmo MN on Saturday June 8, 2024. We have the opportunity to use both inside and outside space this year! The picnic is for all current PWDCTC Members. Anyone thinking about joining the club be sure to send in your membership form prior to the picnic, the form can be found here.  Cost for this event is $5 per person or $10 per family/household. A wonderful lunch as well as water/soda will be provided.

Dryland Water Training

We will have an outdoor fenced area set up to practice the exercising comprising the first two levels of water work. Club members Angela Yarbough and Karen Derr will provide coaching for Junior and Apprentice level teams to take the foundational skills previously learned in our February workshop and apply them to the trial exercises, we also will welcome any team new to water work. You and your PWD can learn to take the fundamental set of skills “wait”, “mark”, “bring it”, and “retrieve to hand” to successfully complete the Retrieve dummy from shore exercise. The dry land training skills are a building block to prepare for our water practice and the Water Trial coming up in September. If you plan to take part in the dryland training, please be sure to mark “Yes” in your RSVP. A list of equipment needed will be sent to all those who plan to participate as well as where to find the equipment if you need it.

PWDCTC Merchandise

Our regular Club merchandise supply is currently limited but we will have a few items on hand including some water equipment, but if you are looking for something specific please reach out prior to the picnic and we can assist you. Payment is by cash or check only. Please note: To prevent canine influenza and other communicable diseases we will not be loaning out equipment for the dryland practice, it’s always best to use your own equipment.

Games

We will have a few fun games and activities planned to play inside with your dog as well as a fun Raffle Basket!
